Every feature of the Mac teleprompter that understands
The teleprompter FREE
It starts as a beautiful teleprompter that becomes magical.
Open a document and hit play. Tellie hangs from the notch near your camera, and hides there when done.

Made by Steve Chazin, a former Apple exec, to feel like it was always part of your Mac.
Voice Follow PRO
It reads along with you, word for word
Tellie tracks your words, not your speed, and keeps the highlight on the one you’re saying. Pause and it waits. Skip a line or go off script and it finds you, even with Zoom in front.
Stagehand PRO
It keeps track so you don't have to
Mark the points that matter. They check themselves off as you say them, even in your own words, and a quiet heads-up arrives while there's still time to cover everything.
Nudge PROBETA
Your next line, right in your ear
Put in your AirPods and keep your eyes on the room. When you need it, a voice in your ear says what’s next. Only you hear it.
- Pause mid-thought and your next words arrive.
- Squeeze a stem to ask, any time.
Start talking and it stops. Works with AirPods, other Bluetooth headphones, even a foot pedal.
Take Coach PRO
A coach in your corner
Finish the take and a quiet drawer opens under the prompter: what landed, what didn’t, and a suggestion to improve next time.
It’s optional: one switch in Settings turns it off if you’d rather just read. Findings, never recordings: no audio, no transcript, kept on your Mac for 90 days.
Companion PRO
Float it anywhere, or hold it in your hand
Detach Tellie from the notch onto any display, or put it beside the lens on your phone. Each script remembers its font, speed and place.
- Your phone or tablet with Companion
- Any display, from a thin strip to a wide panel
- Global hotkeys to play, pause and jump
Invisible FREE
Only you can see it
Right under your camera, so your eyes stay on the people you’re talking to. The room sees you, not your notes.

Screenshots too. Want it in the shot? One toggle makes it recordable, this session only.

- Name the scoop before the sponsor
- One ask at the end, only one
Drag the handle.
Presenter Magic PRO
Present without looking away
Your Keynote speaker notes appear in the notch as your slides change. The room sees your slides; only you see your notes.
- Your notes in the notch, a slide at a time.
- Finish a point and the slide turns for you.
No confidence monitor to set up. Works with Keynote 14 and 15.

Your apps and agents can use the notch too
Push a status, a link or a script to the notch from a terminal or an AI agent. It arrives as a quiet line that never steals focus, and a link makes it clickable. The URL scheme, the CLI and the MCP server are free.

“I tried ten teleprompter apps, Tellie is the only one that just works. Reliable voice tracking, automation through hotkeys, and best of all, I can send any text directly to the teleprompter with a single button press.”

What does Tellie do?
Tellie is a teleprompter for Mac that sits in the notch and follows the words you actually say. It waits when you pause, finds your place when you skip or ad-lib, stays invisible on Zoom and screen recordings, and runs entirely on your Mac.
Which Tellie features are free?
The teleprompter itself is free forever: classic scrolling at your speed in the notch, invisible on every call, mirror, opacity and font controls, section navigation, opening Word, Pages, PDF, RTF and Markdown, Send to Tellie, and the tellie:// URL scheme, CLI and MCP server.
What does Tellie Pro add?
Voice Follow, Stagehand, Take Coach, Presenter Magic, Companion, playlists, per-script memory, a detachable and resizable prompter, global hotkeys and the Pulse Log. Every download includes 10 days of Pro with no card. After that, Pro is $29 once for up to 3 Macs.
Does Tellie work on a Mac without a notch?
Yes. Tellie runs on any Apple silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later. Without a notch (an iMac, a Mac mini, an external display) it sits top-center, just below the menu bar, with the same features.
Which languages does Voice Follow understand?
More than 40 languages and regional variants, using Apple's on-device speech recognition. It works in the languages Apple ships an on-device model for, with no internet connection.
What files can Tellie open?
Plain text, Markdown, Rich Text, Word (.docx), PDF and Pages. Bold, italics and headings come through, and headings become sections you can jump to. You can also paste, or send text from any app with Send to Tellie.
Can I run Tellie from my iPhone or iPad?
Yes, with Companion (Pro). Open one link on any phone, tablet or laptop on your Wi-Fi and it becomes the prompter, a remote or a checklist. Your Mac does the listening, and nothing goes through the cloud.
Try every feature, free for 10 days
Then keep the teleprompter free forever, or keep everything for $29 once.
