The origin story
I'm Steve Chazin. I spent more than thirty years in tech, and Steve Jobs personally rehired me in 1997, during Apple's turnaround. In all those years, I never learned to code.
I built Tellie anyway, with AI as my coding partner. I did not write the Swift. I knew what the app should do. The first version came together in three days, while I was visiting my granddaughter Ellie and sneaking in the work whenever she napped. I named the app after her. She is just learning to read, and Tellie is about helping the rest of us read out loud a little better.
It began as a teleprompter that follows your voice. Then I wanted something the AI never would have proposed on its own: a teleprompter that tracks what you still have not said. That became Stagehand, and it is why Tellie feels less like a scroller and more like a coach in your corner.
