Send someone a script, not a file
A Tellie script is plain text, so it can travel as a link. Paste one in below and you get a URL. Whoever opens it sees the script with its must-cover sections and key phrases intact, and can send it straight to Tellie in one click.
The script rides in the part of the link that browsers never send to a server. We do not store it, we cannot read it, and there is nothing to delete later.
Try a ready-made one
Short scripts that show what the marks do. Pick one, then click Send to Tellie and read it out loud.
minutes: 2 # The Monday standup ## What shipped Only the things a customer can actually touch. If it is not in front of someone outside this room, it did not ship, it moved. ## What is stuck Name the thing and the person who can unblock it. If nobody in the room can, say that out loud too. ## ! What I need from you > key: what I need, blocked on This is the section everyone runs out of time for, so it is the one marked must-cover. Its anchor is two phrases separated by a comma: say either one, anywhere, and the section counts as covered. That is how you write an anchor for a point you might phrase either way.
Nothing happened? Then Tellie is not on this Mac yet. It is a free download, and this script will open straight into it once it is.
Every one of these is a page you can link to on its own. See them all, or make your own below.
Make a link
Paste a script. The link builds as you type, and nothing you paste here is sent anywhere.
What the marks mean
Three characters carry the whole convention, and a script that uses none of them still works fine. The scripting guide has more deets.
| You write | Tellie does |
|---|---|
## A section |
Makes it jumpable, and lets Tellie track whether you covered it. |
## ! Important section |
Makes it important and colors the text, which turns green when you finish the section. Tellie also warns you with time to cover it, or tells you later if you skipped it. |
> key: Washington Commanders |
Checks off when you say the key phrase "Washington Commanders". If the key is under an Important section, the entire section turns green the moment you say that phrase, even if you say "Washington Commanders" somewhere else entirely. Key phrases under normal sections give you a checkmark whenever you say the phrase anywhere in the whole take. |
A link or a file?
You can download your script and save it as a .md or
.txt file. Or, send anyone the link in a Slack or text message.
